Second Breakfast

Goodreads, if Goodreads was about dinner — track what you've cooked, rate it, shelve the keepers.

The idea

A shelf for what you actually cook

Second Breakfast is what Goodreads would look like built for recipes instead of books: track what you've actually cooked, rate it, shelve the keepers, and see what people you trust are cooking this week — instead of scrolling a blog post for four paragraphs before the ingredient list.

What it does

Cooked, rated, shelved

  • Save a recipe from anywhere and get the recipe — ingredients and steps, not the essay above them.
  • Track what you've cooked and how it went, so the keepers don't get lost with the experiments.
  • See what the people you trust are actually making, not what an algorithm thinks looks good.

The name

Why “Second Breakfast”

Named for the meal you have because the first one went well. Cooking worth doing is cooking worth doing again — Second Breakfast is for the recipes that earn a second showing.
